Southern Girls Challenge

Hello Hello!!!  This is my other blog.  Rhapsody on paper is going through a make-over.  It hasn't had one in, would you believe 5 years.  It's time (besides this blog, Have Colors, Be Happy is just more happy).  So make sure to check out the Happy Thought box in the right hand corner.  So on to the new post for Southern Girls Challenge.

Before I show you my project, let's see who our fabulous sponsor(s) are for this fortnight.

Go show some love crafters.  If not for sponsors we would not have such a great challenge blog.  Also for my AU and NZ crafters, make sure to label your entry with your country.  You just might win a special drawing.  Good luck to all!

Here is my creation.  The image is called Candy. Girl with lollipop. This is a steampunk design from Lia Stampz.  I have to be honest.  It took some time for me to come up with a really great design for this card.  I believe I have done it!  Here is my card,

Here is the front of the card.  I used my new Arteza colored pencils.  I am
really impressed with how the color lays down.  Recollections Orange and
black cardstock and a very old piece of pretty purple paper.  Washi tape and
a vellum sticker complete the front.

Here is the inside.

This is a close-up of the flower stamp.  This is from Stampin Up and
 it's dated 2002.

Here is the back
I never have been a great stamper.  The little bee is also Stampin Up.
Same set from 2002.  The bee says 'You are one in a buzzillion'...

Well thats it for this fortnight.  I hope that you are staying home and staying healthy.  Here in Oregon, USA we are on a mandatory lockdown except for grocery shopping.  I pray that you all stay well.

Bright Blessings,

Birthday Card for DIL

Can you believe that it's March 2020?  Gosh time flies when you are busy as heck!! Besides working at our shop and taking a course through our local health care network, I don't have time to craft as much as I would like to.  BUT, I had to make this card using the free Oval Swing Card from Simply Crafty SVG's.  Sandy has so many creative files.  I am by no means a professional crafter but Sandy's files sure make me look like one!

On to the project for March.  Last month I made a treat/gift box for my DIL's birthday.  This month I finally got the birthday card done.  This is the first time I have ever made a swing card.  I have a feeling that I will be making a lot more.  This was super easy to put together.  So please go give it a try!

Here are the pics...

This is the envelope.  Make with Recollections paper.  The printed is a
scrap that I had in my files.  (I'll show you the scrap files someday)

I added some of the Graphic45 Safari Adventure scrap paper to the inside
of the envelope.  Just to make it a little fancy.

Here is the from of the card.  I have used G45 Journey of a Lifetime #4501364
and Serengeti Outfitters #4501358 from the Safari Adventure Collection.
The glitter paper is from Dollar Tree.
The saying is from Creative Fabrika and the saying is FREE.
Pls excuse the colors of the photo.

It's swinging!

When the card swings this is the inside.

This is the back where I put my contact label.

Here is the complete card and envelope.  I think my DIL will be pleased.
So this is my project for March.  What am I making for April?  Maybe something for Easter?  You will just have to check back in.  Bright Blessings,

Gift Box for Daughter In Law

Can I tell you how much I enjoy making Simply Crafty SVG's?  I am completely addicted.  I just wish there were more hours in the day to craft!  Thank you Sandy for creating absolutely fabulous files for everyone to create!

My Daughter-in-laws birthday was the end of January.  We don't celebrate it until after the Super Bowl is done with (Yeah KC Chiefs).  I have several presents for her but I try to make something also.  After looking at all of Sandy's files, I have chosen the 3D Dog House file.  Just a quick note, my DIL is a Veterinarian so this is perfect.

I had bought some tan/beige double sided heavy cardstock a while back.  Even though it has images on the other side I loved the color of the beige.  That is the main component of the dog house.  Let me show you what I have created...

Isn't she adorable.  The eyes were a gift from a friend.  But little Maggie
has a sassy grim from ear to ear.

I used brown Pebbles Chalk to chalk the edges of the shingles.

I have held on to this paper for at least 5 years.  I found it on clearance at
Joanns.  It is glitter paper.  I knew I would use it for DIL someday!

This is what I was talking about with the cream colored card stock.  I don't
think it is to bad for the inside of a doggies house.  You could call it designer
wall paper!

Well that all for this month.  I hope that you will go and check out Simply Crafty SVG's.  Sandy has a file for every holiday.  Remember Valentines Day is almost here.  Take care and see you in March 2020.

Bright Blessings,
