Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge #529 Anything Goes

I do not know how my brain does this.  Being on a design team has some chores that go along with receiving free digital images.  One of those chores is picking top three for your designated challenge number.  When your name is listed, you pick your top 3.  Do you think I can do this right?  How many years have I been on design teams?

I screwed up again.  I ALWAYS see my name and think that I need to pick top 3 from the challenge that is just ending.  So I am SORRY teammates.  Maybe by my 5 year anniversary I will learn how to do top 3 correctly.    Let's just get this blog started.  Here are the fabulous sponsors and prizes.

Prize~3 Digi images of the winners choice

Prize~2 Digi images of the winners choice

It was so hard for me to chose 'any' image to work with for this challenge.  I love BOTH these sponsors and their images are always so nice to work with.  Thank you sponsors!

Now I am using an image from the The Paper Shelter that is called Would you buy some flowers?  Here is a simple card.  Nothing fancy.  I did do some layering by fussy cutting the images out and using glue dots to make some dimensions for the image.  Here we go...

With my logo on the front of the card it is hard to see the
details.  No coloring on this card.

I think you can see how I propped up the different layers.

I outlined with glitter gel pens the blue flowers and the
brown wheat.  The sentiment was created using SCAL5
which is the cutting program that I use with my Silver Bullet
electronic cutter.

So that is all for this fortnight.  At the end of this challenge I will tell my coordinator I will do the top 3 again (since i screwed up again).  Starting to feel a little like fall.  Halloween anyone???

Stay Safe, Healthy and know you are very blessed.

Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge #528

Hello everyone!  Go grab your favorite beverage and lean back in your chair.  I have a mini tutorial for you this challenge.  But we have to start with our sponsors.

Prize~2 digi images of the winners choice

Prize~3 digi images of the winners choice

I have got to admit that I do have favorite sponsors.  These two are on that list.  Clean and very cute images to color and decorate with.  What more could you ask for?  Please go and throw some love their way!

On to my project.  I was assigned to work with SheepSki Designs.  I chose to work with Happy Birthday Image # 236.  Here is what I designed to show off this image.

Here is the finished product. Super simple card.  Used some
nesting dies for the background.  Paper pieced the balloons.
The happy birthday paper I got at St. Vinnies thrift.  Here
is how it came together.

I cut two sheets of bright red Neenah paper in half lengthwise.

This gives me (4) pieces 4.25" by 11.0"
I needed to add a hinge for my design.
I used (2) 1/2" x 4.25 pieces of background paper
I glued both hinge papers onto the 2 card layers using 1/8 in
peel and stick tape.
By now you have probably guessed I am making a giantic
easel card.  I folded in half one side of the card base.  Glued
one 4.25" by 11.0" onto the folded base.  Then decorated.
I used the smallest die from a slim line scalloped set and the
smallest rectangle stitched set.  Here is the final card.
The front
The inside
The easel card in all it's glory!

This card challenged my brain a bit. I have to say I love the result.  Is it large?  Yes.  Can I design an envelope for it?  Probably.  But not today.  Maybe down the road a bit.  My brain has froze.  So off to do some coloring for my pleasure.  Where I don't have to think to hard!

Thank you so much for visiting today.  See you in a fortnight for another wonderful challenge from Penny's.

Stay Safe, Stay Healthy and know you are blessed!

Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge #527

It's that time again.  Put your tray away and your seat upright.  Here we go!!!

For this challenge, here are our fabulous sponsors:

Prize~2 Digi images of the winners choice

Prize~2 Single images of the winners choice

We have wonderful sponsors each challenge.  But gang these 2 sponsors are big in the digi stamp world.  Please go show each of them some love and please leave a thank you!!

Now here is what I created using Hetty Clare's digi stamp called 'loving my new pad'.

I started by coloring the cute frog with Prismacolor
Pencils. I have used a saved pond image from a
card from a few years back.  It worked perfect
with the little frog.  The card is a very light celadon
and the background paper is from my stash.

When I search for inspiration, I usually head
over to Splitcoast Stampers.  This site has a
search feature that sure does save time when
looking for a idea.  It's a great resource.  I found
a card featuring a frog and this was the saying.
I decided to use it as the sentiment for the
inside. I printed it onto a scrap of vellum.  The
background paper is from my stash also.

I hope that I have inspired you with my creation.  Go out and create something you will love this week.  Being creative is a great way to chase away the blues!!!

So for now, stay safe, stay healthy and know you are blessed!!!
