Team Trace Southern Girls Challenge X2

Hey Ya'all!  I hope this finds you healthy and sassy.  Here in Oregon, USA we are still under lock down.  But there is light at the end of the tunnel now.  The state may reduce orders that have kept many businesses closed for almost 2 months now.  I think our business will be a survivor!

I think that this challenge image from JMC Designs called 'Pippa' will bring a smile and/or a giggle.  But first, lets see who our sponsor(s) are for this anything goes challenge.

JMC Designs

Please go show some love to our FABULOUS sponsors.  They really appreciate it.  Without them there would be no challenge.  Thanks Crafties!

OK on to my creation.  It's picture heavy so be prepared...

I have colored Pippa with Primsacolor pencils.  The card
stock is from American Crafts.  The patterned paper is
from Hot Off The Press and is called Paper Pizazz.

Here are the items I decided on for decorations.  Jems from
Crystal Stickers made by Mark Richards.  The other
embellishments are from a big tub of stickers that I found
at a thrift store.

This is a easel card.  I used 1/4 inch generic score tape to
adhere the top of the easel.

I used the generic double sided score tape to adhere the
bottom of the card.  I used the Mark Richards Crystal stickers
for a stopper for the top part of the card.

Here is what the bottom of the card looks like.

Bottom sticker I used and I backed it wil some pink card.

Another stickers for the top portion of card.  I will write a note
later in this space.

Here is the finished card.  I think this will put a smile on my
friends face.

The back of my card.

So that is my creation for this Southern Girls Challenge.  I hope I have put a smile on your face.  I will see you again at the end of May.  Until then...

Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #206 Easter/Spring

Hello from my other blog.  Rhapsody on paper is going through a change.  It's been 5 years and I think I need to get with the times.  So watch for something new soon!  So time for a new challenge over at Crafty Gals Corner.  But of course lets see who our amazing sponsor(s) are for #206 Easter/Spring challenge

Creative Bug on the Loose
Prize~5 Digital Stamps

Bugaboo Stamps
Prize~$12 Gift Certificate

Prize~$5 Gift Certificate

These are our fabulous sponsor(s).  Please go show some love!  They really appreciate it!

Now on to my project.  It is a image called Cuddle Buns Gets Squished created by Creative Bug on the Loose.  This image is so danged cute.  Perfect for Easter/Spring Celebrating.  Here is what I created.

I colored the image with Prismacolors and Arteza pencils.  Then found the
backgound that I have used for ages.  Put Cuddle Buns on background and
proceeded to decorate with stickers.  I think it's cute.  Something very different
from what I usually create.

That's it for this challenge.  Now I want to talk about the Covid-19 pandemic.  Oregon is under lock-down except for essential services and grocery stores.  The grocery stores are now limiting how many people are allowed into a store.  (ie Kroger)  Bob and I are so lucky to be somewhat healthy.  (knock on wood) Please take care of yourself and your loved ones.  Check on your neighbors, see how they are doing.  We all need to help each other if we want to get rid of this virus.  Prayers for healing!

Bright Blessings,

First Monday in April!

It's my time to post.  Hello and welcome to my blog.  The other blog, Rhapsody on Paper is currently under construction.  It's been a while since it has been refreshed.  Make sure that you check out the Happy Thoughts Box on the top right corner.  It has a funny in it!

I picked a box svg pattern that Sandy has created.  It's called a Decagon Gift Box.  It is also on sale right now.  Since it is April it is time to make gift boxes for my besties Carolyn and Dolores.  This will be 43 years we have been celebrating our birthdays together.  I have made a yellow box for Carolyn and a blue box for Dolores.  What I am going to put in them I have no idea.  Maybe a mini spa day box?  Who knows.

So lets get to my project.  Now Sandy has an excellant tutorial video on the Simply Crafty SVGs website.  You can find the video with the Decagon Gift Box SVG File.  So I am not going to bore you with every step.  But I will show a couple of tips that I found that worked great.  Here we go!

See the orange strip across the top of the box band?  That is double sided tape
that fits perfectly.  So I laid down the tape and cut out the 'V".

Picture with the 'V' of tape cut out.  Please follow Sandy's video.  When she
says to put the front pieces on when the box band is flat she means it.

This is what I am talking about.

Here is the completed box top.  I didn't think you needed to see how to
attach the top to the box band.

Just another view of the Decagon Gift Box Top.

Here is the blue top.

Here is the top with bow.
Another view.  Now all the papers are G45.  Main reason is because they
are very nicely double sided.  Really makes a pretty box.  For the blue box, I have
used the Flutter Collection set.  #4501770 Dazzling and #4501769 Serendipitous.
For the yelloe box I have used the Garden Goddess Collection.  #4501751
Sunlit Petals. Remeber the papers are two-sided.

I put a blue gems in the center.  The yellow gift box has a
yellow flower.

And the final product Decagon Gift Box.

That's it for this month.  I hope you have enjoyed the pictures.  Try the tape trick that I showed in the
first picture.  Really went well doing this.  What am I making for next month?  I have a feeling it will have to do with Mothers Day and Birthdays.

Bright Blessings,

Southern Girls Challenge

Hello Hello!!!  This is my other blog.  Rhapsody on paper is going through a make-over.  It hasn't had one in, would you believe 5 years.  It's time (besides this blog, Have Colors, Be Happy is just more happy).  So make sure to check out the Happy Thought box in the right hand corner.  So on to the new post for Southern Girls Challenge.

Before I show you my project, let's see who our fabulous sponsor(s) are for this fortnight.

Go show some love crafters.  If not for sponsors we would not have such a great challenge blog.  Also for my AU and NZ crafters, make sure to label your entry with your country.  You just might win a special drawing.  Good luck to all!

Here is my creation.  The image is called Candy. Girl with lollipop. This is a steampunk design from Lia Stampz.  I have to be honest.  It took some time for me to come up with a really great design for this card.  I believe I have done it!  Here is my card,

Here is the front of the card.  I used my new Arteza colored pencils.  I am
really impressed with how the color lays down.  Recollections Orange and
black cardstock and a very old piece of pretty purple paper.  Washi tape and
a vellum sticker complete the front.

Here is the inside.

This is a close-up of the flower stamp.  This is from Stampin Up and
 it's dated 2002.

Here is the back
I never have been a great stamper.  The little bee is also Stampin Up.
Same set from 2002.  The bee says 'You are one in a buzzillion'...

Well thats it for this fortnight.  I hope that you are staying home and staying healthy.  Here in Oregon, USA we are on a mandatory lockdown except for grocery shopping.  I pray that you all stay well.

Bright Blessings,
