Merry Christmas with Simply Crafty SVG's

I am amazed at how time flies.  Seems like I just posted Veterans Day.  This month (i post on the first monday of the month) I have some Christmas cards I have made using Simply Crafty SVG's file Christmas double fold card set.  The set has 3 Christmas related ornaments.  A bell, tree and an ornament.  As usual this post is really picture heavy.  So let me show you my cards.

Here are the 3 styles of cards.

Here is the bell.  I made two of each.  You can always use
more Christmas cards.

The inside has a matching bell shape to write a note/greeting.

The inside and outside have panels that
match the paper under the bell shape.

Here is the tree. See the band around the card, it comes off
so the card can open.  Pretty clever!

See the band is off, the cards opens.

One side extended and showing the side panels.

Finally here is the ornament

Inside

The extended card.
So there you have it.  6 very easy Christmas card to make.  Of course, every file of Simply Crafty SVG's  comes with very detailed instructions.  If you ever have a question pls comment on Simply Crafty SVG's  facebook page.  Lots of great information and inspiration can be found here.

I will not see you again until Monday, January 7, 2019.   So from me to you...

Celebrating Veterans Day!

Welcome back to Have colors, be happy blog.  In 48 hours we will know the outcome of the midterm elections.  Between you and me, I hope that Americans show the white house what they really think about congress and the backbiting.  I for one, am sick and tired of it.  Enough of my rant.

Hi there crafties!  Today I am sharing a new project from Simply Crafty SVG'S.  You can find this amazing SVG right here:  4-Wheeling card svg file.  This would be a great card for Fathers Day or maybe a male birthday card.  The possibilities are endless.  That is exactly what I have done.

Here in Albany, OR, we have the BIGGEST Veterans Day Parade and Celebration this side of the Mississippi.  Here is a link to see some pics from previous years.  Albany Veterans Day Parade.  I have a dear sister of my heart who I am celebrating this Veterans Day.  So I have made this a military card.  She is Army and darned proud of it!  Here is what I came up with.

Here is my Army military vehicle.  I decided that my sister needed
to be a 5 star general.  Aren't the Uncle Sam hats great.  I used big
White sparkles for the head lights.  I was amazed that you can google
Army camo print and find sheets for scrapbooking.
This is a side view.  I hope that you can see that the hood of
the military vehicle lifts up.

I have printed a sentiment that I really hope my
sister knows how I feel.
The back of the card is totally white.  Here is where I will write a personal
note to sis.

I hope you have enjoyed my version of the vehicle.  Please remember to honor our Veterans and active service men and women.  My opinion, Bless them one and all.  We could be speaking German or Japanese.  My opinion only.

I will see you after Thanksgiving with what i bet will be a Christmas themed something.  But for now, Bright Blessings, Happy Veterans Day and Happy Thanksgiving!

Halloween Treat Gable Boxes (in 3 sizes)

Lets start with Happy Halloween, Samhain and Day of the Dead.  If you celebrate these occasions, some type of treat is called for.  I have little neighbor kids again, which I hadn't for quite a while.  So  I decorate the house with lights and banners. The windows get clings of cute Halloween characters.

Thank goodness I am a Design Team member for Simply Crafty SVG's!  Sandy has amazing files that she has created.  Did you know, if you want a specific SVG file made, Sandy can do this also.  So on to what I have made for my trick or treaters this year.  Photo heavy as usual my crafties.

Here are the gable boxes.  All 3 sizes.

Mini Gable box (it's free)

Wide and Tall Gable boxes (separate files)

As you can see in the photos above, I have decorated these
Gable Boxes with Halloween Papers. I love them as is,
but I wanted to put name tags on them.

The mummy was a freebie from a new stamp
company called Witt & Sass Stamp Company.
Please go check this business out.

I put the names on with alphabet letter stickers

This one is for the Bob.

Here is a close up of the mummy.
This is the other figure from Witt & Sass that
I made the name tags from.

More alphabet stickers

Here are all the boxes.  I think they turned out so cute.
Thank you for joining me on the blog.  I hope you leave some love when you stop by.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN CRAFTIES!!!

Bright blessings,

A2 Frame Card(s) for Monday Sept. 3, 2018

Hello dear friends.  Anyone ready for some fall?  Here in Oregon it usually starts raining Halloween and doesn't lay off the precipitation until July 5th.  We are so behind in the rainfall this year.  2018 has already been classified as the driest year on record.  Come On Rain!!!

So for today I have created A2 Frame Card Set #2.  I used the 6 sided frame this time.  I hope to use this pattern for other cards in the future.

Crafty Friends, I used a chubby unicorn named Purdie in my creation this week.  I just have to give a shout out to Amy and her new business Witt & Sass Stamp Company!  Purdie is a chubby unicorn that will be getting into trouble and have adventures which a new stamp set will be made.  I LOVE using these stamps.

Now on to what I created with a list of supplies.

Summer Tent Camping Box

Hello everyone.  I am a day late and I apologize, events just have ways to interrupt your life.  So I am here today to share this amazing Mountain/Summer Tent Camping Box.  Oh what a fun project.  I had never done 3D paper crafting until my friend Debs suggested I try.  So I am now on the DT for Simply Crafty SVG's.  Having gotten the hang of 3D projects, I am now starting to let my wonky/creative personality show through.

So here we go...

This month I have chosen a file called Tent Camping Box.  Last month I made a Mountain Box Card with Yetti's and pink flamingos.  This month is a little tamer.  Let me show you what I came up with (picture heavy)

Here is the front of the box.

I used ribbon and tacky glue on the front and back.

This is what the sides look like.  DCWV has colored burlap.  I got this at Tuesday
Morning this winter.  They had a pastel book and a bright book.  Love working
with this.  It has a paper backing and cuts like burlap.

The back.  I used ground coffee for the ground.

Here is how the box opens.

You could put a small present/note inside.

The inside of the box.

And the completed box again.

Some of the special items that I used on this project are:

Ground coffee for dirt
Ribbon to cover the kraft board
Glitter for the trees
Holographic paper for the cooler
Heart brads
Thank you so much for visiting this time.  I will be back in a month for a project for back to school.  Bright blessings,

Mountain Camping Box Card

Hello everyone!  I have a great project from Simply Crafty SVG's.  My project is called
Mountain Camping Box Card.  It is a wonderful project and Simply Crafty SVG's files are phenomenal.  They come with full instructions to put any project together.  Sandy is an amazing designer and available for help anytime.  Please go check her shop out.

OK, most of you know that I have a rather quirky sense of humor.  So I asked Sandy if I could use some interesting embellishments for the box card.  So I have decorated with some funny stuff.  (I hope you can laugh at them too)

This is a side view

Another side view

Here we go!  Big foot Gorge and Yeti Pass

Have to have a pink flamingo

OMG it's a AirStream trailer with real curtains.
Also the lawn chair has a cold drink and bug spray.
And you can't go wrong with a Christmas Tree!

Last but not least, the camp fire had to have marshmallows
cooking for s'mores.

Here is the finished Mountain Camping Box Card.  There
is the cresent moon with a falling star.  The front says Relax
and also Happy Summer.

Dear Sandy, I just helped your card along a little bit!  BTW Sandy loved it!  Hope you enjoy my little bit of fun.  Next design team project I will just make something and leave the humor out (maybe).

Take card everyone.  Happy Independence Day!

Bright Blessings,
