Challenge #6 Anything Goes

Hello Hello!  So happy that you could visit.  My daughter is having Thanksgiving day dinner at her home this year.  I am so proud of her.  I thought I would make some table place cards for seating. I knew right off the bat exactly what I would create with this image. Here we go!

The image that I have chosen for this month is Pumpkin Patch Kitty.  Miss Mary, the owner and designer of Createful Hearts Digi's has sketched this adorable kitty sitting in the pumpkin patch.  What a beautiful image and a dream to color!

So now lets see some pics (it's heavy with pics this week).

First I figured out the dimensions of my project.

I have used a 5 1/2" square.

I thought that this paper would be great.
It has metallic gold leaves also.
I thought you might like seeing where I work.  This is
a butcher block tool chest that Hubby thought would
be just perfect in my craft room.  He was right!  I love
this chest.

These are place cards for daughters first Thanksgiving Dinner!
Here are min and hubby Bobs.
Here are the daughters!

This was a very fun project.  Remember to check out all of Miss Mary's Esty site.  Her (& Hubby Mark) designs are wonderful and many perfect for any occasion.

That's it for this month.  We have a big surprise coming up so make sure to visit our Facebook page for news updates and FREE Digi's.  Please use one of the freebies and join our challenges!  Hope to see you very soon!

Bright Blessings, Jana

Createful Hearts Challenge #4

Welcome, welcome and welcome.  So very happy that you could join me.  I have a fantastic birthday card for your inspiration.  Let's get to it!

Here in Albany, where I live, for the past 25 years the city has been carving and painting carousel animals for a authentic Dentzel carousel.  Well the dream finally became real in August 2017.  I absolutely LOVE carousels.  I have been riding then all my life.  I told the story to Mary (owner and designer of Createful Hearts) and low and behold she drew a beautiful carousel horse for me to color and feature in this challenge.

So that's the background story.  To make this card I used the following:

*Neenah embossed card base
*light pink, pink and yellow squares stacked
*Misc. stickers
*Free Carousel background fussy cut
*Sivo Vivid color pencils (India)
*1/4"  round sticky jewels
*Many OTT lights
*Needle nosed tweesers
*most important Mocha Mix from Costco

I used my imagination to color the horse.  (As the only time I have been on a real horse was many moons ago)  I hope that it does represent a horse.  I fussy cut the Carousel background that I printed on my printer.  Then I put the card together.  So here is what I created!

This is the front of the beautiful Carousel card.

Here is a closeup of the stickers and round jewels

Here is the inside.

I hope that my creation gets your mojo up and running.  I try and get a boost from my design team members each week.

Thank you so much for visiting.  I will be back sharing another creation for Challenge #6.

Bright blessings and have your best week ever!  Jana

Createful Hearts Challenge #2 ATG

Hello all!  So glad that you could join me today.  Challenge #2 is starting over at Createful Heart Cards For the time being each challenge is anything goes.  Createful Heart Cards would love for you to use one of their images (but not required) and make sure you read all the rules.

OK on to my creation.  Mary (the designer) has hand drawn this wonderful grouping of poppies.  I dislike making sympathy cards and decided to use this bouquet for the focal point.  Here is what I came up with.
The red version

The gold version

I just couldn't get a pic to show that each flower and leaf are foiled in total red or total gold.  Maybe these pics will help.

Now you can see the red and gold foil.  Foiling just adds a beautiful fancy effect.  I am sure if needed, these sympathy cards will warm the heart of the person receiving it.

I will have another beautiful creation featuring Mary's hand drawn designs in a month.  Meanwhile Team Createful Divas will show off their creative designs in 2 weeks.

So take care my friends, bright blessings, Jana

So my image this month is called sweet hearts.  It is available in Mary's ESTY shop.  Here is what I used to make my design:
SIVO Colored Pencils: (These pencils are from India and have very soft lead)
     Brown, Dk. Brown and Red
Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers
     FS1, FS2, TB4, IG2, LY2, LY3, IG4 AND DR4
3M 45 spray adhesive
Mirror paper from Dollar Tree
Blue card stock from Paper House
Printed ATOM paper from Joanns

My tools I can't live without:
Needle nosed tweezers, quilting ruler, rotary cutter, huge cutting mat and some stuff I will remember next month.

So here is this months inspiration:

See the atoms bouncing around, that is how I figured out the caption for the card.

The inside.  Sorry the picture is crooked.

Super Excited!

So excited.  I was asked to be a guest designer over at Simply Crafty SVGs and also on facebook at Simply Crafty SVGs.  What a great honor.  I love the files that this site has and the owner Sandy is a fabulous designer.  Her design team is top notch.  Their examples with Simply Crafty SVGs 3D files are beautiful.  Please go on over and say hello and look around.

So for my project I wanted to make something for Bobs birthday which is in a couple of weeks.  Bob is a machinist.  We own a machine shop and he is in high demand.  So the file I chose is a 3D Tool Box.  It looks just like the 4 that we have in the shop.  This one is able to be filled with what ever you want.  It has a top section and a lower section.  I used standard cardstock and my ATG gun.  I think I will go to a candy store and look around.  Might be able to put some saltwater taffy in the bottom.  So here is how my Simply Crafty SVGs 3D Tool Box Turned out.

Here is the front view on the SBC 1600
(surfacer)

Side view of tab and look at the lock.

The other side.

The back of the tool box.

valve machine)
I hope that you will try some of the free files over on the shopping page for Simply Crafty SVGs.  I have to confess, I will be doing more 3D SVGs.  I am totally hooked.  Again, thank you for visiting and see you again soon.

It's Graduation Season

Hello everyone!  I have a graduation card for your inspiration.  I've gotta tell ya, working with tiny little feathers is not easy.  I wanted a wise old owl on the front.  So I dug out my feather collection.  I found a package of Guinea fowl feathers.  I liked the colors and they were not to big to work with.  Boy was I in for a mess.  I'll finish the story in a minute.  But first lets do the colors:

~From the ScrappDew Vault:
     Grad Hoot PNG
     Owl 2015

~Guinea Fowl Feathers
~TPC Class Act Tassel Toss paper by Colorbok
~Graduation stickers from Walmart
~KNK Zing Electronic Die cutting machine
~Make the Cut Software
~Scissors, quilting ruler, glue stick, needle nosed tweezers and other stuff.

OK now back to the story.  I gave my kitty Emmie a feather to play with while I glued them on the wise old owl I was making.  The next thing I see is Emmie jumping onto the work bench.  The feathers went flying everywhere.  Oh well, the  vacuum cleaner will pick them up in the morning.

So here is the completed graduation card.
Here is the wise old owl.  I just happened to have paper with motar boards.

Here is the inside

And finally the back cover.

It's turned out OK.  I will have to re-visit using feathers sometime in the future.  So that's it for this week.  I have to design a birthday card for a dear friend so maybe that will be the project for next week.

Hope to have you visit again very soon.  Bright Blessings for a fabulous week ahead, Jana

Neighborly Birthday!

Would you believe that I forgot to post this last week.  Well better late than never.

Hello all!  Today I have for you a birthday card that is out of this world.  I am terrible at creating manly cards.  But I think that this one fits the bill very well.  Here are the lyrics...

*Out of this world by ScrappyDew (Vault 2012)
     {I used the whole collection}
*DCWV The stardust stack
*Recollections scraps
*My Scrap Chick 5x7 card in a box svg file
*24" Silver bullet Cutter
*Sure Cuts A Lot v4.88
*KNK Zing and Make the cut software
*All the basic tools we all use daily

Here is the card that I created for Chads birthday.

The 5x7 card in a box finished.

I just love this paper.  DCWV Stardust stack.

This paper is also from the Stardust Stack.

The outside of finished card.

Other side of finished card.

The left side flap.

Right side flap.

The finished front of card.

And the back where I will write a short note.
I must tell you, Chad was amazed at his card.  So happy he liked it.  Good neighbor relations are a must have in my book.

So for now, bright blessings for the rest of the month, see you soon, Jana.

I'm back

Hello everyone.  I think that I have figured out how to manage my time.  If you haven't heard I am working as office manager for our machine shop.  Owning your own business has it's perks.  One of those being that I can craft when I want to; but really only when I get the office stuff done.

So this week I have a couple of new baby cards.   Would you believe that the new little ones were born 24 hours apart?  Both are little boys and perfect in every way!  Let's see what colors I have used this week.

~I used Baby Monkeys from Scrappy Dew (I can not find this file)
~Bits and pieces of various papers
~Zenith KNK Zing electronic cutter
~Make the cut software
~All the usual stuff

So here is my projects:

The envelopes, the paper says it's a boy.

For Baby Corrick and Baby Derek

Inside for Corrick

Inside for Derek

These were a lot of fun to make.  I think that the center step card really sets these cards off.  Now next week I will have another project.  It's graduation time, so that is probably what I will focus on.  Have your best week ever, bright blessings, Jana
