Happy 4th of July, Independence day!

Happy Independence Day and to my neighbors up north, Happy Canada Day!

Time for my monthly project showcasing a 3D file from Simply Crafty SVG's.  I have chosen the 4th of July Tealight Holder as my July project.  I love how this turned out.  Here is the link to the file:  4th of July Tealight Holder.  Oh did i happen to mention that the file is FREE!  Go grab it!~

Here are some pics to show this off.  You can get really creative with the file.  You are only limited by your imagination. 

Here is the beauty shot.  I have 1 battery powered tea light in each holder.
I purchased them at the Dollar Tree Store.

These 2 pictures are of my mantel in the living room.  We have cathedral ceilings
(1st pic)  2nd pic is just a close up.  The 3 masted ship is the USS Constitution.
The ships wheel and bell are off an old ship.  These were given to Bob because
we have a 28 foot boat.  We have a nautical themed house.

A Little Farming Truck

Hello my crafties!  It's my monthly turn to post a Simply Crafty SVG'S project.  I have created a farm truck from the file Christmas Tree Delivery Box Card.  Since it's almost summer here in Oregon I decided that this truck could be a farm truck.  Now we are not farmers in any way, shape or form.  Haven't had a garden in years.  Recently I saw a old Fred MacMurry movie called The Absent Minded Professor.  In the movie, he shoots clouds with flubber rays and giant vegetables turn up in the local farms.  So here is my tribute to The Absent Minded Professor.

I used scraps from my scraps file drawers.  Here is a peak...

This file drawer holds solid color scraps and 6x6 paper pads

This drawer holds printed paper scraps.

Now both file cabinet drawers are sorted by size and color in each.   Example Beige Large and Beige small. For the printed, I sorted by main color of the paper large and small.  OK lets get back to my project!  Now I used all scraps and I also used some fruit picks that I scored for .49 cents.

 Bob's farm truck could not be without flames.  I also tried to use mirrored
 paper wherever I could. 

This is the front grill of the truck.  You can also see that
this does fold down to make a box card. Well it would if
the fruit picks weren't so fluffy.

Oh, I guess I had better mention who Bob is.  He's my hubby.  He is usually featured in cards around 

here especially masculine cards and his nickname is "The Bob."

A Happy Garden Gnome!

Hello everyone it's my turn to share a really fun project from Simply Crafty SVG's.  I decided to create my take on Sandy's Gnome that she designed for Christmas.  This little gnome can be decorated any way that should suit your fancy.  I decided my gnome would be a flower gardener.  So I made my little gnome first.  First try on the feet was a disaster.  I had glue on me, my crafting area and I was lucky the cat didn't get glued.  So I got out my very thin (1/8 inch) double sided tape.  BINGO we have a winner.  The tape worked great.  No process pictures this month, sorry.

Here he is.  I love how he turned out.

You can see the pink rose paper now.

The hat is lime green with a white with gold spots brim. His beard is make from Vellum.
  This also shows the way the gnome opens to fill with anything your heart desires.

This was such a fun project.  I would say that the feet are the hardest part to put together.  But, please do give this wonderful pattern a try.  The video Sandy provides of the assembly is great and easy to follow along.  I love the pause button!
