Merry Christmas for our Doggies and Kitties!

I try to come up with new treats for my kitty Emmie and my grand kitties and grand doggies.  My DIL is a Veterinarian.  They have 3 kitties and 4 doggies.  So I have a bunch of Christmas presents to make and give.  Thank goodness for Simply Crafty SVGs.  Sandy has the purrrfect stocking box just for the animals in our life.  Here is some pics of the finished boxes.  4 Cat and 4 Dog stockings.

Here is a pic of all the stocking boxes I made.  The boxes are made out of
NeeNah solid color cardstock and the sides are Co'Ordinations.

These two have paper from the Jolly Stack by American Crafts, bones are
made from scraps.  Next I cut some tinsel and used curling ribbon to make
each box unique.

I think you can see the names on the small bones at the top of each stocking box.
The paper used here is from Graphic 45 '12 days of Christmas'.  The paper
name is Joyeux Noel.

Now on to the cats.  The girls have picked names from the greek gods for their
fur babies.  Paper for these two are, on the left Sweater Weather 'snow friends'
by American Crafts.  The right is another G45.

I named our fur baby to match the Wizard of Oz.  We have had Munchkin
Forrest, Spooky Forrest and currently Emerald Forrest (Emmie for short).
These two stocking boxes are the same as the ones above.

This project went together very quickly once I got started.  Christmas/Yule season is always a race
to get everything done and ready.  I don't take down decorations until Twelfth Night.  I do love all my lights and shinys.

I wish each of you a bright and glorious Christmas (however you celebrate).  I will see you the 1st Monday of January 2020.

Happy Gnome-giving!

Hello everyone and welcome to my November post for Simply Crafty SVG's.  This post I am using the amazing gnome that Sandy designed last Christmas.  I have made him a Gnome Pilgrim.  Come with me and let's take a look.

Here I am.  Dressed up for Thanksgiving.

The hat to the gnome comes off and you can put something inside.

Now for the papers.  These are from DCWV 2013 Halloween/Autumn big book.
The solid cardstock is American Crafts.  I made the sign out of a pop cycle Stick
and some craft card.  Printed the sign with Make The Cut, using the settings for
Print and Cut.  The gold buckles are mirror paper from a dollar store.  Dotted
paper is some I bought from Joanns probably at least 5 years ago.

Here is the hat buckle.

Here are the buckles on the shoes.  I wanted to edge the beard with ink but,
well the time got away from me.  Next one I will.

So again here is the finished gnome.
Thank you so much for visiting today.  I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.  See you the first Monday in December.

Creepy Coffin Treat Boxes

Hello everyone!  Time for another creation using the fantastic files from Simply Crafty SVGs. I chose the Creepy Coffin Treat Boxes for this months post.  I continue to be amazed with the creative files that Sandy comes up with.  This file is so easy to use.  I enlarged it to almost 6" tall.  Putting them together was a breeze!  Here they are...

I learned my lesson.  If something is black, don't photograph it on black.

I cut out a simple bat shape and put names on each.  I had to come up with
a way to make a Creepy Coffin Box for a girl.  I think I nailed it.

On each of the long sides I picked out some paper that kinda matched the front.
And here is the beauty shot.  I had to get some candy.  So I chose Reeces
Peanut Butter Cups (they are the bob's favorite)  {my chocolate stash is hidden}.

So I hope you have a wonderful not to spooky Halloween.  I hope this year to give out lots of candy.  My neighborhood has a lot of new young families.  So we shall see!

On The Farm with Southern Girls Challenge!

Hello everyone!

This blog post is going to be very short.  I have gotten a sinus infection.  I think the weather getting very cold has a lot to do with it.  Need to put a big pot of water on the stove and get some moisture in the house.

This Southern Girls Challenge theme is 'On The Farm'.  The image I am using is from Colour of Love by Heather Valentin.  It is called Peace Possum.  Now this darling Peace Possum lives on the farm spreading peace wherever she visits.  Here is my creation.

Please click on the pic to see all the details.

I think every farm has to have a lot of ants.

I don't know what this card will be for yet.  So i left the inside blank.
This is the back.  My initial is a vellum sticker sheet.

So that is my project for October 3, 2019.  Team Trace will be back for October 29 with another challenge.  Hope you can play along!

A birthday card for ???

Hello all my crafties!   I needed to make a birthday card for a special someone.  I try to out do myself each year.  This year I really have done it.  This is called an Square Exploding Box.  I found this SVG file from Simply Crafty SVG's.
Here is the link:  https://www.simplycraftysvgs.com/shop/3d_designs/square-explosion-box/

I have to warn you.  This post is very picture heavy.

Just starting to cut out the file.  I use Make The Cut software and my KNK Zing.

I fell in love with this paper.  It's nice and stiff.

Here are the 4 layers to the square exploding box.
(I decided not to use the aqua paper in the final project).

Let's Decorate!  The Square Exploding Box File has the toppers for each
layer.  I chose to double the paper so that both front and back are decorated.
The paper I have used was found at a thrift store.  50 sheets for 3 dollars.
These papers all coordinated beautifully.  So this is the outside of the
square exploding box.

This is the Aqua middle section.

The other side of the Aqua section.

This is the 3rd layer and is light grey.

The other side of the 3rd layer.

Here is the Square Exploding Box with the top on.

Here is the completed box with the lid on.

I've taken the lid off and the box is exploding!

Now you can see the box is fully exploded.

Just a nice beauty shot of my project.

Well I finally got blogger to play nice again.  Got the pics and the captions completed.  I will have to show you the finished project next month after the special occasion.

Until then,

Happy Fall Ya'all!

Yeppers.  It is just about my favorite time of year.  I am a born and raised Oregonian.  This season called spring and summer are always way to hot and sunny for me.  Give me dreary gray skies and absolute downpours of rain and I am a happy girl.  Strange huh.  Well I know that a lot of people love the summer for camping.  This is my special ode to a certain someone.

I have used the Tent Trailer Box and the Mountain Camping Box Card files provided by Simply Crafty SVG's.  Sandy has incredible files that cut and go together perfectly!  Go on over and have a look.

I have combined the Tent Trailer and the Mountain Camping files to create a Mountain Tent Trailer box card and the Tent Trailer gift box.  So here are my creations.

This is the completed Tent Trailer Box.  I thought that the
lanterns looked like the paper ones from Japan.  So of course
I had to put tassels on them.

See the lid of the tent trailer comes off and you have a little
space for treats or whatever.
Here is the back of the box.

Here is where it gets a little tricky.  I used the Mountain
Camping Box Card.  I cut the Air Stream trailer 1/2 off and
left some as a support for the tent camper.  I made just the front
of the tent trailer and then glued it onto the support.  I made the rest
of the Mountain Camping Box Card the same.

Here is the side view of the box card.

This is the back.  I reduced the mountains and cut some paper then pasted it on.
That way I can write what I want to on the back.
Here are the two projects together.

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy day to visit.  I will be back again really soon.

Bright blessings,
